Physics Paper 2 Mechanics of Motion
Physics Paper 2: Mechanics of MotionThe second topic of physics paper 2 is the Mechanics of Motion. It is also the main topic of physics paper 1, so we will be repeating it again, if you fail to understand it. Here are some questions that you need to ask yourself when reading this topic:- What kind of motion do you want to explain? - Do you want to use one of the formulas or the field equations? - Are you going to use Euler's formula?- Kcse will be used to calculate the position of the body in space. The other factors that have an influence on the Kcse are the time, velocity and acceleration. It is important to know what the properties of the Kcse are before you will be able to figure out how to solve the equation. The basic property of the Kcse is that it represents the gravitational force between the two bodies.- The action and reaction are simply the relation between two objects. They are related by time. For example, a fall of a mountain which is falling towards us is a reaction force and not an action. If we try to climb the mountain the force is an action and if we try to fall back the force is an action.- Time can be a linear (or non-linear) relation or it can be a more complex relation, depending on the action or reaction that are taking place. When there is an action, it is a short step and the resultant time will be shorter than the time that it took for the action to take place. Conversely, when there is a reaction it is a long step and the resultant time will be longer than the time that it took for the reaction to take place.- The graphs of the Kcse can be plotted graphically. In this case the equation will always be linear, but if the force is an acceleration then it will be non-linear. So you should know what kind of graph you want your experiment to be plotted before you start.- Remember that Newton's laws of mechanics applies to all bodies. This means that in order to move a body from one place to another you must accelerate it, not propel it. If you do not accelerate the body it will just follow the gravity. The Newton's law of gravity can be used for all kinds of physics problems. When you have understood all these topics and practice, you will be able to solve physics paper 2. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me, I will be happy to help you out.
